Raised in Western New York and Northern Pennsylvania, Karla Jay has worked as a speech pathologist since 1982. When she is not working or at her home in Utah gardening or writing, she is traveling, seeing as many countries as possible–in particular, those with good coffee, ancient history, and great beaches. SPEAKING IN TUNGS is her first novel.
I’ve wanted to write, stories ever since I got lost in The Boxcar Children when I was seven. I also wanted to run away and live in a boxcar. Now that I know the difference, I’ll take being an author over living in a metal container. Here’s a proof that I started writing early. With my brothers at my side, one quite upset about something, perhaps the turn the plot line was going, I banged out stories on my dad’s Royal typewriter.
